The Islands of the Elbe

Now here we are again! The mandatory stay behind a deserted island.. well not deserted.. other boats as well but this is what it is all about. Setting the anchor alarm and just relaxing. A also did a bit of glass fiber work on the anchor locker but its not ready to show yet 😉

The Boat Office

I must admit that I spend several days fixing and improving and also just relaxing as well as working in my “Boat-Office” The 50W solar panel is actually enough to top up the batteries in a few days and I can easily run my Laptop and the heater at night off it. Apart from water

Finally!

Finally. Finally! After not knowing what will happen not knowing when I would even be allowed to see TARDIS again we are in the water and enjoying the water life again. Less Guests, less couch surfers. More me, close friends and me alone. First order of the day: Get TARDIS to her mooring in Wedel.

Waiting and Fixing..

On a side note… I treated myself to a proper pedelec, leasing it from my company. This bike is amazing.. I am pulling a trailer and total weight of 200kg through the whole of Hamburg. 30km a day and no sweat at all. I got rid of the need for a car for good now.

Bons Souvenirs

Après un bon petit déjeuner dans le métro et une charmante marche dans un chemin de terre ombragé, nous sommes arrivés au port ou nous avons retrouvé Sebastian. Comme tous mousses nous avons reçu les premières instructions de sécurité et de survie ! Nous avons enfin quitté le port, nous sommes rapidement arrivé sur l\’Elbe.

After almost three weeks its time again to feel and taste the sea… well the Elbe. Hamburg is unbearable hot so what better way to spend the weekend anchored behind a small island dipping into the water from time to time and just to pity all those that melt in the city.  Also… I needed

The run to Hamburg

In one big ride we made it to Hamburg from Helgoland with two tides and a short 6h stop in Cuxhaven. Not to spoil but the fish where very happy to be fed by me and the guest… 😦 We started out in a horribly dense mist, barely seeing the buoys…. 1.5m waves were announced

It was a rather pleasent quick and uneventful passage.  On Helgoland for the first time the small northern harbour was full and we had to arrange ourself in the bigger one… and climb over a ton of boats all the time to get home 😦
